• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Dark area where water polygon meets FS2020 water

Often seashores (Alaska) a less than perfect. So we need to add water in an area where it has been left out. But our water poly is butting up against the "real" water put there by the sim. Where they meet, I get a dark area that I cannot get rid of. (And, If you don't get your poly close, then ground appears at the interface). Is there any way to eliminate the dark area where "my" water meets Asobo's water? I've attached an example of what I'm discussing. This is Cape Decision Alaska. Thank you. (Doug/RTMM)

This is caused by the same blending that extends some visibility out from the shoreline. As far as I'm aware, there currently is not a workaround for this. At least, not one that I have figured out.

Extend your water polys further over stock water. Use different type of water if you see conflicts.

That worked, before when I tried that it suddenly put trees in that "overlapped" area, this time it extended the water nicely. I used LAKE and I had OCEAN. So both of your suggestions together seemed to work. Thank you very much. (Doug/RTMM)

Interesting. I've tried that in the past without luck. Maybe they have tweaked something.. Is there any artifacting at all or is it seamless? I'll have to go back and take a look at one of my projects.

It sure didn't work for me either. But today I tried what he said ... and it works fine! Don't forget to mess with the kind of water too. (I think Paavo paid off the elves without us knowing!) :-) But give it a try. I sure worked for me. In fact, I had to change the entire scenery I had built because it gave a whole new look to what I was doing.

Just got a chance to try it in one of my sceneries and can confirm that it does work now. Time to fix all of these polys..
