• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA DBD L-39C Continued

This is yet another conversion of a FS9 model. This time, it's the DoughBree Design Aero L-39C beta, of which the source files are freely available. The only license term is that the resulting project has to be freeware. So basically a no-brainer.

The (current) result of the conversion is a FSX native model with a lot of stuff going on under the hood. With a bit of long-term fun in the form of degrading subsystems. Works roughly as advertised in the real flight manual.

This is an ongoing project, so there's no official release and release date.

Current builds with all their bliss and bugs can be obtained from this link:

Reading the manual is mandatory!

Many thanks to Vit Storch (DBD) for an excellent basis!

Zero (other) replies and only "Likes".

What is this, f'in' Facebook?

Now I should like this post :D

Anyway, it's looking very good Bjoern! But, why has the left side of the panel a different color than the right side?

In-simulator lighting?

Or do you mean the main panel?
In that case, it's to facilitate differentiation between flight and engine instruments.

Yeah. Some, mostly older, aircraft also have the engine or primary flight gauges outlined with a thick white or yellow stripe. It keeps you focused on the most important things.

Hello Heretic

I hope someday to get a similar result. Nicely done my friend! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Keep up the good work.
Best regards,
Sergio.

Small fix for the nose gear.

DIY: In panel\l39set\L39parts.xml, replace:
Code:
(A:ROTATION VELOCITY BODY Y, feet/second) /-/ 60 * 50 + (>L:noseangle, enum)
with
Code:
(A:SIM ON GROUND,bool)
if{ (A:ROTATION VELOCITY BODY Y, feet/second) /-/ 60 * 50 + (>L:noseangle, enum) }
els{ (L:noseangle, enum) 50 != if{ 50 (>L:noseangle, enum) } }

Or redownload and only replace L39parts.xml.

FYI: The latest update incorporates bump and spec map support for the exterior model as well as totally new default repaints.

After I get through with some animation work for a friend I'm going to have to check this out but I'm very much afraid!

I've been having a blast in this aircraft. I installed it P3D (latest version) and took to the sky and put it through a shake down. This is the first trainer I have flown that doesn't feel like an F-18, it has the power I would expect in a small trainer. Kudos on the FDs. I did become very much afraid! I went for a slow pass inverted, gear extended 500ft off the deck when to my astonishment, flame out! I rolled over and tried a quick restart, no good, no time, ejected. I never found that student pilot.
Want some input from my perspective in P3D?

First time I have seen this post. The L-39 is looking great. Thanks for sharing the work in progress, I'm really looking forward to checking this plane out.

Cheers,

Scott

All Vit's work, not mine.

Someone didn't read the manual. *Ahem*
It's a quirk of the real thing to boot.

Want some input from my perspective in P3D?

In what way?
I can't possibly support a platform that I can't test on, so if you get any bugs in P3D, you're on your own.

Who has time to read, got the baby under my arm, the other youngun on the couch, we're watching Curious George, got 2 computers running, one with Max running and the other with P3D and I'm typing on my Galaxy S5. And now I've got to go take a dump.

The only problem I've encountered is she sits on her tail at startup. A reset user object or toggle of slew mode puts her back into position. I suppose I could tweak the contact points.

BTW, I was lying, I do read a lot. My passion is history. I'm currently reading an in-depth study of the life of Mary Queen of Scots.

Doesn't happen in FSXSE.

Could be something about the FDE in P3D. Remember, this thing was originally made for FS9.
If you want to fix it up and offer patches or the complete shaboodle for P3D, feel free to.

"America" by Tindall/Shi. College/HS lecture or somethin', but it's broad and general, just how I like it. And in English.
Not to count the other books that I've started but never finished.
