• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

to many channels to export 5.

i get this error from time to time and have researched it . its a common issue and the solution is to flatten the layers in ps but i dont really want to do this.

anyone know what is causing this. apparently there is an extra alpha channel hidden somewhere. one suggestion says delete the background layer as its there but i dont want to do this.

has anyone encountered this and the cause and how to solve ?

thanks

Why not flatten, Save As, then immediately "Undo" the flatten? I do that every time I get this type of error.

i could do that but it only happens sometimes so this makes me want to know what is causing it on these occasions and then making sure i can avoid it . if it was just random and no logical cause then i would not bother and simply flatten as you suggest.

I've had it happen with as few as two layers in the RGB channels, and one lonely Alpha channel.

I've seen no rhyme nor reason for the "too many channels" message.

Especially given that I've had no problems with massive PSD files with as many as a hundred or more RGB layers, masks, etc., with and without an Alpha channel! :yikes:

There's far too many more important things to figure out rather than spin my wheels chasing what may well simply be a phantom in the nVidia export tool!

fair enough if its not logical then i will not concern myself with is anymore and worry about bigger things

thanks

No problem. A few months ago, I spent two full days "researching" this problem via extensive google searching, finally coming to the conclusion that no one (not even nVidia themselves!) could point to a definite cause for this specific export/conversion error...
