• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Decompile error in AI Flight Planner

I have taken the default 3 textfiles (AircraftAircraft.txt, AirportAircraft.txt and FlightplansAircraft.txt) in FSX. In FlightplansAircraft.txt I have removed most of the flightplans leaving only a few. Then I Compile the 3 txt-files with AIFPC and get my BGL-file.
When I try to read this BGL-file in AI Flight Planner I get this (Decompiler) error: (translated to english)
"A non-executed exception arose in the program. If you click continue the program will ignore the error an try to go on. If you click finish the program will close at once.
The arrithmic action caused an overflow"

Is it not possible to make a small "FlightplansAircraft.txt file with for instance 10 flights and then compile it with the two other txt-files? I get a BGL-file allright - but when trying to decompile this BGL-file (as done when reading it in AI Flight Planner) I get the above error-message? Can someone help me so I can go on in my new AI-experiences?

Best Regards

Hi,
If you deleted that many default plans and aircraft, why don't you make a new traffic file with the ones that remain and delete the old one or change the extension into .bak
You would probably be better off if you use another name in your txt files.
You could call them: aircraft_10.txt, airports_10.txt and flightplans_10.txt and they will be compiled into traffic_10.bgl.

I think all you need to do is open AIFP, go to files/load traffic bgl. Browse to the default trafficAircraft bgl and open it . That loads airports, aircraft, and flightplans into AIFP. Make your changes, save and compile. Make a copy of the default files. Lots of work, though. As Roby said, better to make new flightplans and disable the default. Easier to do using AIFP than Ttools was.

You guys certainly have been active today.

larshgf, you should be able to create AI flight plans of any size with AI Flight Planner. And, whether or not your flight plans are valid, AI Flight Planner should not "crash" as it seems to have done.

Would you please send me the file set that cause this difficulty so that I can see what's going on.

Don
