• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hello,

I'm not sure of all the key terms in order to do a proper search for an answer, so I think it is easier for me to just post my issue here. I am working on an airport (KTOC) in ADE for P3Dv4. I have had to tweak both runway lengths as they are different than what is default in P3D. Additionally, I am attempting to complete the entire airport using default objects, GPs, etc in ADE. My issue is, when trying to add a Landclass Polygon with Deciduous and Mixed Boreal Forest, it doesn't want to overlay the default Landclass (I assume) which looks like Airfield1 Grass. I cannot seem to change the shape of this default area or do anything with it. When I initially took my screenshot of my ADE editor below, I also list two Vector roads that weren't showing up in P3D, then all of a sudden, there they were when I took the P3D screenshot, so they have nothing to do with the issue above. So, below the first pic is from the ADE editor showing where my LandClass polys are situated and the second pic is in P3D where you see the Airfield1 grassy area that the Landclass is not covering. I am trying to cover the area with my Landclass. I appreciate and helpful advice. Regards, Robert

A basic rule of- / preferred procedure for- scenery making in all versions of FS (including AFAIK, P3Dv4.x) is: Exclude & Replace. ;)


IIUC, you have created a CVX Vector polygon in a BGL intended to "Replace" existing Airport Background CVX Vector polygon(s) that utilize(s) the "MaskClassMap" locally-compatible Land Class texture attribute.

BUT... did you also create an "Exclude" to prevent display of the default and any other underlying 3rd party custom Airport Background CVX Vector polygon(s) which utilize(s) that"MaskClassMap" locally-compatible Land Class texture attribute ? :scratchch

If you have not yet done so, you need to create a CVX Vector Exclude for any such default and/or 3rd party local Airport Background CVX Vector polygon(s). :pushpin:

BTW: You can see what the locally-compatible Land Class texture attribute will be displayed in FS at run time for Airport Background CVX Vector polygons that utilize the "MaskClassMap" attribute, by examining a reference spreadsheet.

Luis Feliz-Tirado detailed the MaskClassMap mechanism, and a cross-walk table for textures which will be "mapped" as a substitute for Airport Background CVX vector polygons that use the MaskClassMap GUID type are documented in a spreadsheet file:
