• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Delay Exhaust

Is it possible to delay exhaust smoke animation from showing immediately when FSX or P3Dv4 loads up? I opened FXEditor and selected fx_smoke_exhaust.fx.
Under both [Emitter.0] and [Emitter.1], I selected Delay=0.00. I changed it to read 15.00, 15.00 on both Emitters. I Save and then reopen. In FXEditor, there is a
delay before the smoke starts rising. But in MCX, there is no delay. Smoke shows immediately. Am I on the right track or completely off course?? Any help appreciated.

FXEditor and MCX should show the effect in the same way, as the same code is used to parse and render the effects. But I guess the real question is how does FS render the effect? Setting the emitter delay sounds like the right approach to me.
In the emitter.0 delay, is this the right way: Emitter Delay=15.00, 15.00
emitter.1 delay=15.00, 15.00?
Forgot to mention, in FSX; the smoke is immediate seen when loaded.
You might want to check which emitter makes which particle. Sometimes the FX files have multiple emitters.
I would need to double check the source code, but I expect seconds.
