• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Designated parking

I'm looking at adding AI to my GA airport. There are two FBOs operating there, each with its own apron, and aircraft belonging to each would normally only park on its "home" apron. Visitors could park at either.

I'm just wondering the best way to achieve this. Could I assign "airline codes" to the parking spaces, where the code represents the FBO, eg "OSF" would be Oxford Sport Flying, and "EFC" would be Enstone Flying Club -- assuming these codes are not restricted to "airlines". How are aircraft then assigned to the parking? Is it something specified in the flight plan, or part of the aircraft cfg, or something else? The AI are using custom paints, so I have a reasonable degree of control on the aircraft.cfg entry.

or am I barking up the wrong taxiway? ;)

Hi Tim,

Adding codes to the parking spots is the way to do it but the added codes must be in the aircraft.cfg, eg parking_codes=OSF. Before deciding on your parking codes check that the code isn't being used already by another airline. Ttools has its own parking code list and there are others around. My own tendency is to use a code to which I add a digit (four character ones are allowed) or a two letter one plus a digit when I want particular aircraft to park in particular spots. The other thing to note is that the AI system can sometimes not use your parking spots as you would like.

Runaway Slew

While using SDK OPT window runaway SLEW issue. <F2> doesn't seem to hold scene at ground level all the time. Any command keystroke tips to lock the scene until all scenery planted?
