• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Diamond Da 20 Freeware

As it seemed a good idea to try it out in fsx, I exported it and I get an
katana.blend.x and a
katana.blend.x.xanim file.
I am a bit confused, can someone help me?

When you hit 'Export' -> 'DirectX for FSX(.x)', you can check the option 'Export MDL' in the lower left corner of your screen. That should do the trick ;)

Nice modelling btw!

Btw it shows up alright in the aircraft select tab but not (not the model ) in the details´preview window

Anyways, I had a closer look at the lights now.
A few questions:
1. Read above, still found no solution
2. If i export the model, are e.g. red blender materials the same texture in fsx later?
3. Is the mirror working the same when exported?

Hello everyone, I think I have done enough modelling so far that i can try to export a early prototype into the fsx, what I would now still want to know is first:
1. A few problems with compiling(read above)
2. Can you do for example reflective instruments with the blender mirror function?
3. If possible could somone send a few pictures of the pitot area and the seats?
4. Can you export animations, for Example flaps directly with the model? (Is there a tutorial about that?)
5. Is there a video on how to let the wing, gear et cetera bend with the airspeed and the ground?
6. If you have got time, please take a short look at this video I made and say if you feel like any detail is missing or I got the proportions wrong.
7. Thank you very much for your help!

If the weather is good I'll go flying next friday. If so, I'll take some pictures for you

2. Can you do for example reflective instruments with the blender mirror function?
No, the "Mirror" function is a build-in Blender (edit, modifier) function, to be used for 3D MODELLING, It has nothing to do for light-reflection on any surface

4. Can you export animations, for Example flaps directly with the model? (Is there a tutorial about that)
Yes, Ferox you can. Krispy1001's "Blender2FSX" tutorial videos show you exactly how to animated flaps (and more) directly into your model.

I've created video transcripts of all Krispy1001 videos which can be downloaded over here:

Sadly I haven't got an awful lot of time at the moment, I still didn't manage to implement it to FSX (for whatever reason), but now did the air intake, prop tip, wheels and reduced the exhaust diameter. I'll try to do a basic motor, get the gear shape better and finally put this bird into the sim this week.

Looking good, instead of actually modelling the engine you could try & find a good frontal photo showing the engine through the air intakes & use it to texture polygons inside the air intakes.

Thats what I usually do.

Great looking work! Very nice.

That is also a nice way, adding more "depth" to you model via textures.

ok, thank you, but it will take some time until i do this. Does it matter whether you use blender internal or cycles render?
