So I'm digging through the MSFS folders in an effort to see if I can add custom interface music (hey who doesn't want the Top Gun Anthem to play?) and in my journey with trying to assign things properly to my Saitek X52 I discovered a nice little thing I haven't seen in sim that will help (perhaps it's under the help menu)...
In the (Steam) based folder structure there's some great images showing what the button numbers are for various hardware controllers. This not only benefits for MSFS but also for stuff like DCS etc as well if you're trying to set up your controls in a way that makes sense to you.
