FS2004 Display effect

Hi Patrick,

You mean some effects work, while this one does not? That's weird, since all the effect textures are in the same folder.

Hello Arno,

Indeed that is what I mean. If I apply fx_smokestack I see it in MCX but if I apply fx_lightxxxxx I don't see it. I put 4 red light on top of my control tower, those are the lights I'm talking about. They never showed up in MCX though I can see a reddish checker.
And if I put the effect\texture path in the texture path settings then I can't see anything anymore.

The effects work fine in FS.
Hope that helps,

Hi,

By default I think you should have something like [FSXPATH]\effects\texture and [FS2004PATH]\effects\texture on your texture search path. These should make sure the effect textures are found.

Do you have both FS versions installed or only FS2004?

Correct, here is my default path:
[MCXTEMP];[FILENAME];texture;..\texture;..\..\texture;[FS2004PATH]\texture;[FS2004PATH]\scenery\global\texture;E:\Flight Simulator 9\Effects\texture;

Only FS2004.

Hi Patrick,

This should be the default path:

Code:
[MCXTEMP];texture;..\texture;..\..\texture;[FSXPATH]\texture;[FSXPATH]\effects\texture;[FS2004PATH]\effects\texture

Can you try with that one?

If you'll scroll to the right you will see the FS2004Path entries.

Ok guys, my apologies for not stating the issue correctly...reason being I didn't know what the real issue is.

In fact the control tower red marker lights (on roof) are showing up in MCX however they are so small they are hidden by the little red squares that mark the position of effects.

So, maybe a rendering issue then.
