• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Display problem

Hello
I use FSDS 3.5 and FSX SP2.
I create objects in FSDS, then use LibraryMaker and Instant Scenery as placement tool.
In some place, when I start a FSX session in an airport, the scenery is not correctly displayed with especially missing roofs.
If I start Instant Scenery and click to open the local scenery bgl file, then scenery is reloaded and all objects are correctly displayed.
I reported this fact on IS forum and I read that such problem doesn't appear when replacing FSDS object with a GMax object.
I hope to get some help about this curious behaviour.

Hi,
I work only with SP1. I have no problem in placing FSDS object with IScenery. That's the easiest way I founded, better then FSX's OPT.

Hello

I found a provisionnal solution: problems were caused by polygons as roofs.
I replaced with boxes (with a very small few centimeters height) and it seems to work).
However, I hope a solution with polys (lighter projects than boxes?).

Other question: when checking "Double poly" option in box creation, is there a way to use different textures on both sides? Is it possible to add the "Double poly" option to a box, if forgotten in creation?

Thanks for help.

In FS-X you DO NOT want to use a two sided polygon. Typically it will cause FS-X display problems.

Keep the two "sides" as separate parts... if you need to move them, make one the child of the other.
