• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Blender Draw Distance on Emissive lights

Hi All,
I am currently building a larger airport in Australia and once of the issues I am facing is with my tower.

My emissive texture is set to 40 and red that works fine until a distance when it either begins to flicker or disappear all together.

LOD's look to be working but I just can't understand the emissive.

If I use a light in blender for example " Spot"
It does not disappear at all so it seems.
Thanks in advanced!

You could use the new light presets to add a custom light. It depending on how size and how much intensity you give it, it will show several NM away. I've successfully done this for red obstacle beacons and taxi lights.

Can you elaborate on that? What new light presets? Did I miss something? :)

I've done blinking taxi lights with that and describe it in this post - https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/t...-hold-short-blinking-light.452082/post-890732

It's the airport properties section. You can only add a custom light to a light row and nothing else, so for something like a beacon assign the light to a non physical mesh like light_warm_medium and use the light support feature to place it at the altitude you want.

Oh, ok. I don't work on airports at all I don't know tools like these that well. Too bad we can't just add these to objects outside of an airport. Thanks for the info.
