Hello Arno,...

If I may,... How far down on the list is the option to have more than one Texture sheets created with or from MCX? Or have I missed that already?

Hi Doug,

Humm, I don't think I understand the question. What do you mean with one or more texture sheets? The drawcall minimizer makes as much texture sheets as it needs to fit all the textures on.

Arno,

In your posting you wrote: "The drawcall minimizer makes as much texture sheets as it needs to fit all the textures on.

Do you check for multiple use of the same textures when filling the new texture sheets? When I try to reduce textures I get more copies of the same texture on the sheet. Is it necessary to have all textures with the same resolution?

Another question is: what does the "Add Border" function mean?

Regards,
Heinrich

Hi Heinrich,

There are two cases when you can get multiple textures that look the same:

1. The textures are almost the same, but not exactly. This happens often in SketchUp models.

2. The texture is tiled. With the include repeating textures setting on, the tool will tile the texture in the resulting sheet, so that the tiled texture can be eliminated as well. If you don't want this you can disable the option.

The option add border adds an additional border of the specified amount of pixels around the texture. This can help to prevent seams at the edges of textures.
