• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

So I have followed "DragoB" SDK texture replacement tutorial here AND the youtube video from "Flying Theston " about replacing areas with replacement satellite textures to the letter. For some reason it just will not show up in the area I am trying to do this in. I have uninstalled the Padderborn Germany scenery as I heard that was preventing textures from being shown. I have no other altered scenery in my community folder but for some reason it still will not show up. Does anyone have any idea why this would be? everything seems to of worked the way it should until the viewing part according to what the tutorials say.

I noticed that custom aerial imagery seldom show up in the editor, unless you already compiled them and put the package in your appropriate MSFS\Community folder. By the way, I know do compile ma scene with the external tool (FSPackageTool.exe in MSFS SDK folder) as it seem to be less buggy than the integrated one...

There is a bug in the sim regarding Aerial imagery. If an aerial imagery package already exists in a nearby area, your imagery won't show. Asobo is aware of this.

Ho do you get the FSPackageTool.exe file to work? I tried clicking on it and it just sits there. Cant seem to find out how to compile the scenery as well. I'm sure I'm just overlooking something.

Give it the project's xml location as a parameter. For me the command line I have to type is :
fspackagetool.exe C:\Users\cyril\Documents\MSFS\lffy\AirportProject.xml
