Effects position update failure

Howdy Arno,

Firstly, I thoroughly enjoy your great tool - MCX. Thanks for all your time invested into the project!

Second, I want to report the bug. Here's the situation:

While creating a taxiway light I attach the effect to the already compiled BGL to make the blue light show. Now if I fail to set the right position (height) of the effect versus the lamp I cannot update it once I save the BGL with the effect from MCX (as FSX BGL) and then reload the BGL into MCX to edit the effect position.

It's a small bug but would be nice to fix it.

Thanks for attention.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Let's see if I understand what you are saying. After placing an effect you can not edit the position anymore once you saved it to BGL?

Let me see if I can reproduce that.

Arno, I think the problem is with saving the BGL files overwriting the original files.

I have just tried save the BGL file with updated properties (deleted one of the effects into it) using the same file name. Once I opened the file in MCX I realized that my changes were not saved.

However, when I saved the updated BGL file under a new name - everything worked just fine.

BTW I didn't have the FSX running while doing the changes. If it were running, chances are it would have locked the BGL files.

Hi Mike,

Let me check with that condition. I don't export to BGL that often, usually I use MDL.
