• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey Guys

A Question regarding Animation in 3smax/gmax - Have NO Problem with Key Frame Animations - Aces Tools Animation Manager Working Great ! - Animations show up in P3d v1.4 the way they should - All Animations are done using Linear Controllers - I've tried this with and with out Linking - HOWEVER - One Small Problem ?? - When I create the Animation for prop0 Blurred - it will distort the the Disk - it seems to do it consistently - no matter which method or steps I use - ??? - very confused A&P. This has got to be something very simple that I am completly over Looking !

+++ This could be a scaling problem +++ Have you tried using the "Reset Scale" button on the disk +++ This might just fix things +++

I have done reset transforms - That just seems to Magnify the Problem ?? - After Import into the Sim - it doesn't seem to be noticeable ?? - thanks for the Reply - In Max after it Happens - I cannot correct the Problem - the Geometry has to be Replaced - Johnman

I have encountered the same problem with wheels becoming oval when animating rotation on more than one occasion. After many various attempts to correct the problem I came to the conclusion that the only way to fix it is to completely remake the object. To this day I have not figured out what cases it and it only happens on rotating objects.

I've had similar with ailerons where they distorted instead of turned. IIRC selecting all vertices and resetting transform fixed it, but like Paul it was sometimes easier to remake the object.

Terrific - the only thing I did that was different - was with all Vertices Selected - I re scaled the Prop0 Round - then did a Reset Transform - With all Vertices Selected - It held its shape in Max - and when I Exported it to P3d - It looked GREAT ! Thank You Sir ! Also I found that on the Making Linear Controllers Default - I did have that set up - However when I did it - I expected Max to change the Controllers that were already in use - "NOT" - I still had to go back in and change the one's that I was Using ! - Thanks Again - Now I know that any scaling done in Animations should be with All Vertices Selected ! - Johnman

Very good, I'll have to try this method next time I run into the problem, thanks hairyspin.
