• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Dear All

I try to increase my collection on WW2 models for my P3DV4

Some models- like MB-131 refuse to be properly loaded

From origonal CFS2 n
by Alain Breton up to VSX Scrubb modifications

Plane will show like attached pictures- and lower lod doesnt help either-should look like last picture
Do I make a mistake ?

Thanks

Roland

Hi,

Which version of MCX did you use to convert the aircraft? Recently many improvements have been made for reading CFS and FS2004 aircraft.

Version 1.6 is not that new, you might want to try the latest development release (version 1.7) first.

I can't even get that far. The _FSX version (which I assume is still in FS9 format) doesn't load, and the one without FSX in the file name gives this exception error:

Error:
The given key was not present in the dictionary.

Looks fine in FSX though.

I'll add this model to my list to check.

I had a quick look at the model. The file with FSX in the name is actually a FS2004 aircraft MDL file, the other model is a FS2002 aircraft MDL file. Both seem to have issues parsing the MDL file, reporting an opcode that MCX does not support. I'll check if I can fix that.

Like Tom says, the FS2002 model gives an error for me and the FS2004 model loads as empty. So I don't get the partial results you have.

Hi,

I had a look at this model now, but I can only succeed in reading some of the lower LOD parts from the model. It's almost like part of the MDL file is invalid, as it contains a lot of zeros. Does this model work correctly in the simulator?

OK, then it must be a bug in MCX somewhere, it seems the BGL opcode decoder has issues with this MDL file.

Hi,

I have revisted this issue and I have made good progress now. I can read most of the model now, although some control surfaces are displaced and it seems the tires are transparent. So getting close.

The fix is in the latest development release, so that's version 1.7.
