• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

The Embraer EMB-120, a twin-turboprop commuter I've been working on for a few weeks now. Numerous parts are still missing as this is not aircraft of which a whole lot of images are available, unfortunately. Hope you guys like it, any tips are welcome.

Thanks Dave. Now in Europe this aircraft is not a very common one. It used to be operated by KLM Excel but since that company is gone it's no longer a very often seen bird. The largest operator on this continent is SwiftAir with their fleet of EMB-120FCs, which should look like this:

Hi Folks,

Love the EMB-120 - right up my alley - flew the tail off the Cantu model for years in FS9... Always wanted one with a fully developed VC and systems... Keep up the good work...

Regards,
Scott

Thank you, Daan. It is not complete yet but I'm quite pleased with these early results. One issue for painting has occurred though, it seems that Embraer has managed to erase their old logos from the internet all together. You see the paint job I was going for was the old Embraer factory paint scheme as seen on PP-PSC. That scheme uses the old Embraer logo in which the bird still has its "feathers" and I can't really seem to find a good reference for that logo.

My virtual PP-PSC, still a number of things missing. Also the used fonts are not correct, I apologize for that but I'm never able to estimate a font from an image.

Are the front windows the correct size? They appear to be a bit large when compared with the photo.

I'm not sure of that. It's quite hard to estimate when comparing it to images....

Compare the position of the corners of each window.

(The front window's top edge should be lower.)

Very nice work!

I usually have a photo textured onto a background polygon, to scale, of the side view of a plane I am making. That way, the windows and things are exactly where they should be. Drawings from magazines tend to have mistakes in them. Just a heads up.

Doing the windows is so dang hard to do....
