• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

In fx_XXXX.fx file, there are [Emitter.0],[Emitter.1],[Emitter.2]... and the related bmp also divided in parts, I'v read how to attach effect to object on Wiki but, how could I define the other Emitters to my objects? Or how are the rest Emitters doing, or how to use the rest part of the bmp. Can I use one fx file trigger different effect to several objects? Thanks for helping.

Hi,

I am not sure if I understand your questions correctly.
In the [particle attribute] there are 2 entries for UV (UV1 and UV2) that determine which part of the bmp is used for your effect.
UV1 determines the lower left corner (x=0, y=0).
UV2 determines the upper right corner(x=1,y=1).
So if you have a bmp with 4 pictures in it and you want to use the picture on the top right you would have to set
UV1=0.50, 0.50
UV2= 1, 1
One effect file (fx_xxx.fx) can contain several effects defined by a series of emitters, particles and particle attributes 0,1,2,3, etc. but you can only attach an fx_xxx.fx to your object and not the different effects inside the .fx file.
If you want to have different effects for different objects then you have to make a new .fx file for each object.
If you want to have different effects for the same object then you can either attach two .fx files to it or make one .fx file that contains several effects.
