• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi everyone,

I would like to build a Total Conversion based on CFS2 for funsies, based on "Venus.Aero":

But I haven't been able to find something as basic as "Replace an airplane 3D model with another 3D model". Was wondering if anyone can help please?

I've explored ModelConverterX and managed to at least get a file converted, but:

1) The .BMP file format that CFS2 seems to use isn't "normal" and can't be read by Photoshop.
2) When I replace one of the aircraft files I get "Unable to load display model" or something like that - but no other details.

You'll probably need the FS2002 sdk, but that's the limit of my CFS2 knowledge. I suggest asking at the CFS2 forum on SOH, they have active modellers who should be able to help you out.

I have it on good authority, that if you contact him with a stack of fresh bills of large denomination in your local currency, he will add your name to the website. Barring that, a contact, as in a personal email, that defines you to not be a bot, or web spider, is sufficient to gain access to the forums. I've just screen grabbed this and have neglected to pay any dues whatsoever since 2014!
