• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Error message help, please.

I want a WW2 Handcraft Hut for my FS9 & found one on the Trimble 3D warehouse website.
It is a skp file so I'm brand new to using MCX & Sketchup.

I played around with this software yesterday & I've got as far as exporting but an error occurred during exporting the selected file:
Message:
The specified executable is not a valid Win32 application.

Also a yellow window appeared asking if I was the author or had permission to convert the object? The answer to both is No, as I got the Handcraft.skp file from the Trimble 3D warehouse website.........

What do I do now to solve both problems, please? I'm totally stumped & don't know what to do now.....so close, so far.....

Hi,

Have you set the correct path to the makemdl.exe in the options? It seems you have set a path, but not to the executable.

About the yellow warning. That is not really a problem, it is just a reminder. It has been put there to make people aware that not everything they can import and edit, can also be legally redistributed to others. So if you downloaded from the SketchUp warehouse you would need to check their license agreement to see if you can redistribute or not.

I don't know if the EULA changed when going from Google to Trimble. But the Google EULA was quite easy and would allow you to use the model (unless the author specified otherwise of course).
 
Thanks.....I don't know what I've done & it has taken me 2 days but I'm glad to say I've just got a lovely Handcraft Hut........now I must darken one texture before I add 30 or more to an airfield....

Being new to this kind of software is very stressful!
