• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

MSFS20 Error message when creating project from XML - what does this mean?

I have successfully changed gate and airline assignments for a number of add-on airports using A2P and ADE for MSFS.

Just tried to do Frankfurt EDDF, airline gate assignments need to change after the opening of Terminal 3. I follow the usual procedure, but now when clicking "Create project from XML" I get an error message (see attached screenshot).

What does it mean? What can I do to open the file in ADE in order to change airline gate assignments?

Thanks, Chris

With A2P. And then opened it in ADE for MSFS. WIth that same method I managed to open AFCAD files and edit gates for numerous other airports in MSFS, just not this one.

Thanks for your help.

Chris...
I think I can help, since on my personal projects I already have deal with similar issues.
First of all, remember that these tools, must be strictly used on personal projects.

I have found that the "xml" file that A2P produces, can fail to load in ADE, for at least one of the following causes, so far:

1) The entries in "xml" file, ends with " /> instead of "/>
Sometimes, replacing all the ending entries from " /> to "/> can make it loadable in ADE.
2) Invalid ILS entries on "xml" file.
Sometimes, removing all the invalid ILS entries from the beginning <Ils to the ending "/> , except the correct ones for the airport being processed, can make it loadable in ADE.
3) Runway surface material in "xml" file, not recognized by ADE.
Sometimes, in all the runway entries, removing the original runway surface code to "" , can make it loadable in ADE.

There will be more causes, that make the "xml" file not loadable in ADE, but these are the most common ones.

I hope these can help.
