• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

The time you start it, it scans all your scenery, aircraft and AI traffic.

This could take a lot of time. As you use P3D I cannot help anymore (FS9er).

Sorry

I too have the same issue (p3d v4.5) although I do not have the high memory issue. It just stays in a loop with the same message as dandate's. Unfortunate there is not a resolution.

Our guru Don Grovestine, the author of AIFP, is no longer with us and therefore AIFP will not be updated in any way in future. You need to investigate the options in the program to prevent it searching for updates. You can also read the manual to discover how to control where the program searches for SimObjects.

Search for the following entries in AIFP.ini and modify them as follows ...

No Automatic Updates=True
Development Updates=False

The error should then no longer occur.

Only if you click on "Check for Updates" under the "Help" tab in the AIFP does this error appear again.

Or under the "Options" tab, the "General Releases" or "Development Releases" item is set again under "Check for Updates At Startup".
Then the error appears again the next time the program is started.

That was solved. The issue now is when I open the APP, start on a unlimited loop using all the memory and the app not response to any clic, just force quit.

If AIFP hangs, there may be something missing in your operating system (Windows).

NET.Framework 4.5 or later is installed on your computer?
AIFP is started/run as admin?

The corresponding places in the manual:

AI Flight Planner does not affect the system registry. It is a VB NET.Framework 4.5
application. If NET.Framework 4.5 or later is not already installed on your computer, the
“redistributable” can be downloaded from the Microsoft website at no charge.
If either AI Flight Planner or target versions of FlightSim are installed on your C: drive,
users with Vista, Windows 7 or later versions will need to execute AI Flight Planner with
administrator privileges. It is not sufficient simply to be the administrator for your
system. AI Flight Planner must be “Run As administrator”, i.e., right-click on your AIFP
icon and select “Run as Administrator”.
