• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Exclude section of Photoreal Scenery

Hello,

I have created a huge photoscenery region and in one of the tiles (two actually) i made a mess with the water mask and they came out like this:

fGfYODO.jpg

Now, i usually test my stuff before deleting the master PSD files, but this time i REALLY messed up and deleted them prior to checking everything. I know the images cannot be extracted from the BGL files anymore, and recapturing them isn't an option as, apparently, the source has changed and the new tiles don't match what i had previously.

So what i'm asking here is, is there any way to overlay a new water mask over the existing one to remove that blue square in the water? Can i sort of exclude that photoreal section so that the water below can be seen normally?

Thank you very much
Nuno

Recently I read about a tool for this. it could extract the photreal tiles from a .bgl file. Sorry I could be wrong because my english is not very good. and not sure where to look.

the only I can think of is to get a tile for the área and resample as transparent (full black) and place the file above the photoreal scenery. ( in the airport scenery for exemple) it could override the original phtoreal.but not sure either.

That sounds like it could work. Just add the appropriate masks... Hmmmm, i'll try that, thanks.

You can't exclude PR scenery, you can only place some other PR scenery over the top. It would need to be either a higher resolution or the file name needs to be alphabetically before the one to overwrite if it is in the same scenery folder.

Yes I have Heard about resolution but appliable to the mesh, any greater resolutiion mesh take priority about the old one. Anyway thinking a Little if the tile is trasparent what could show is the old photoreal ? but as all this in Fsx is a matter of trial and error.

Useful advice, thank you.
