• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Exclusion rectangle - how to use it

Hello together :) I'm new here and I have lots of questions.

I was able to follow the step by step guide here to create m first scenery. But what I'm missing is how the exclusion works.

I have to exclude some autogen buildings that were placed by AI on the airfield, that's wrong irl.

I placed a rectangle over the area but the houses are still there. While editing and after the build/move to community folder

How can I do that?

Thanks a lot for answer

So you'll need an exclusion rectangle, a polygon (with the exclusions checked) and you also need to select the "to delete" options for your new airport (assuming you've given it the same ICAO code)

Thank you.

Atm i didnt give it any icao. What i did is place objects in scenery editor to make the airfield look more like the irl one. That project ive built and placed the output folder into the msfs community folder. And seems that worked, i see those objects in the sim.

But then there is a house that doesnt belong there right next to the airfield and i want to get rid of it. Is this not possible without to delete the rest of the original airport?

Thats screenshot of it. The hangars/house there are standard but the clutter objects is what ive placed. But outside the view in these pics there is a normal familyhouse that doesnt belong there. And that i want to delete.

Have you tried an exclusion rectangle and a poly with the exclusion options set? If the building is part of the default airport, I believe the only way to get rid of it is to create a new airport and use the "To delete" options.
