• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Exporting Animations with MCX

Hello everyone! :)
I'm trying to use the free 747 from project opensky with default fsx 747 virtual cockpit. Unfortunately the cockpit isn't in the right place. It is too far in the back of the aircraft. So I thought maybe it is possible to import the posky model in ModelConverterX, move it a little bit on the x-axis and export it as .mdl again.
Everything works fine so far ... the posky 747 model can be importet and I can see the animations. I can also move the aircraft on the axis. but when exporting to .mdl again all animations get lost.
What am I doing wrong?
Is it possible to export aircraft animations at all?

I think you can fix the VC in the aircraft config file, in the view section if I remember well, not being a FS2004 aircraft where the VC and airplane are modelling all together.

I guess you mean the "eyepoint" right? But this parameter only changes the view in the cockpit and not the absolute position of the vc itself. But thanks for your suggestion anyway :)

I've merged airplanes and virtuals cockpits, all in the same airplane folder and I think (I can't remember exactly) you play with the config file, could be in panel config file. as simple as that.

Hi,

ModelConverterX indeed can't export a VC with all animations.
