Hey all,
I thought I would start off with the first question for the X-Plane forum.
How do you convert a plane from Gmax (scene) to X-Plane?
I have heard of two paths but first you need to export the scene. I have heard that exporting through a particular game format (Quake?) and then importing that into either Blender or XP Plane Maker (about $50.00 the last time I checked).
Has anyone you know tried this? A chance we could get them in here to explain? I remember one gentleman that designed in both Gmax and Blender (I think it was Blender) where he could export his plane in both FS9/FSX and X-Plane formats. He made a very nice XP payware of the Mu-2 Mitsubishi turboprop twin.
There are some tutorials out there on Blender including at YouTube. Seems like a very powerful 3D design engine. Radically different from standard 3D design engines, different interface. I think I heard that a new Blender is on the verge of being released with a redone interface, some improvements, etc. I 'might' be wrong, but that is what I heard.
Bill
