• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello!
First of all, i'm sorry if i'm posting on the wrong session, but I don't where to post this kind of stuff.

Well, I recently created a GUI application that uses imagetool.exe for converting textures. The main purpose of this app is for batch conversion. I know that DXTBmp is very similar and probably better, but I think that have another option won't kill anyone ;D

It was coded in VisualBasic 6, so it needs VB6 Runtime Libraries ( you can find on the MS website ). As I mentioned, it uses imagetool.exe for converting ( included in the ZIP ), so all rights of that application are reserved to ACS.
Oh, the original version was in Brazilian Portuguese, and i've partially translated it to English ( partially completed )

I hope you like it and i'm sorry if this kind of stuff is not allowed here.

Hi Fergo,

Thanks for sharing this useful tool. Usually I start ImageTool from the command prompt if I want to batch convert files, but a GUI like this will be very useful as well.

As you mentioned some parts are not yet in English, I hope you can translate them as well. Many people will not speak Portugese that well :).

Thanks arno!
I've converted all the application to english now. Just re-download the zip file from the same link. The description of each checkbox is very basic ( I don't even know what some options really do ), but I did my best.

Thanks & Regards,
Fergo

Hi

Yes, Thanks Fergo

What a great time saving tool, I'll use this a lot :D

I just love the tools fs users create, it makes the hobby so much easier.

Stevo ;)

Hi Fergo,
wow.. many thanks for this great tool. Now it's easy to convert many files. :)

Does anyone have the english version of this converter? Or is there a better newer one out? Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I need a converter asap.

From his website, this one is NOT in English... Thanks! And yes, I have been googling for a while now... This looks great, but I can't find it in English.

Hi,

I guess only the author can answer this question, as it seems the link to the English version in the first post is broken.

But what is wrong with using the ImageTool tool from the SDK? If you run it from the command prompt you can batch process files with it as well.
