• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Landing during official approval.... The hole at top-right is the FS original airport. This is the correct location and elevation.

Good Morning.

I just wanted to say thank you for doing that Scenery of Faizabad in Afghanistan.
I downloaded, Installed and tested her... and it's a quite usable scenery to have... even though I usually don't do flights to afghanistan, because that is a Region, highly battled by political crisis and even wars.

But I think we should give it a go here and there anyways... So I just wanted to show off some more pictures of your scenery.

Btw. I have modded the scenery a bit more, just to let it look a bit more realistic.

I've added for ex. a precision Approach to give bigger jets (like the Gulfstream V) the opportunity to go in to Faizabad.
More over I've added some community Buildings around. As well as a terminal building (RWY12 Library is required to have those).

By removing or deactivating the AP966190.bgl in the directory: Scenery/asia/Scenery, the hole in the Mountain where the default Airport was located, is then gone!
I may will add the Photoreal Terrain with FS Earth Tiles... because I really want to have that River "Koktscha" more visible, which flows around the Airport...

I just wonder what do you mean by realistic if you add things that do not exist in reality. Neither the marking, nor the scenery. As far as I understand the Afghan directives, there is no jet landing because the damage that reverse thrust may produce to the steel plates that are the base of the runway. Only C130 can land there and only in special emergency case. By the way all satellite images I could get show a dry yellow land, no buildings, no nothing. I am aware that the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I very happy that you enjoy it. Special thank for showing the images here. I use FS Global 2010 and the river is there at the right location and elevation.

Hello Florin,

Yes I know, the sat images show no buildings at all... though I may was refering to youtube videos which show that Faizabad was upgraded with Buildings, Terminals and so on...
As well as there are landing jets too... as there is a video online which showed a Falcon 900Ex Landing and taking off from that same runway... that though maybe was a gov. jet on special permissions...

And yes, I do have the river Koktscha too... though that is only appearing as a very slim blue line... which is irritating me a lot, cause in reality, there are pretty big parts covered by that river: as you can see on the Sat Imagery.
That's why, I'll probably gonna cover the area with FS Earth Tiles... to have exactly that imagery in FS. That may be little more fun then.
