• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Maybe related to my <model>.x.xanim problem, but here goes:

My textures exports with both .bmp and .dds??

Material Material {
0.103669; 0.148737; 0.053336; 1.000000;;
96.078431;
0.030776; 0.043522; 0.016914;;
0.000000; 0.000000; 0.000000;;
TextureFilename {"fuselage_T.bmp.dds";}
DiffuseTextureFilename {"fuselage_T.bmp.dds";}
FS10Material {
0.103669; 0.148737; 0.053336; 1.000000;;
0.030776; 0.043522; 0.016914;;

And the propeller:

Material PropBlurred {
0.640000; 0.640000; 0.640000; 1.000000;;
96.078431;
0.500000; 0.500000; 0.500000;;
0.000000; 0.000000; 0.000000;;
TextureFilename {"Prop_Spinning.bmp.dds";}
DiffuseTextureFilename {"Prop_Spinning.bmp.dds";}
FS10Material {
0.640000; 0.640000; 0.640000; 1.000000;;

In Blender:

In Blender i use fuselage_T.bmp and in FSX fuslage_T.dds

As stated in my previus post, it worked in Win8.1 (Cant remember Blender and Blender2fsx versions)
Now Win10, Blender 2.76b and Blender2Fsx 0.84. SDK = P3D 1.4 (Lesson learned :) )

Also the first export, the filename is T17.blend.x - i rename to T17.x and export, but the animation file is T17.x.xanim. And therefore the T17.MDL has no animation. Which make kind of sense...

I can rename T17.x.xanim to T17.xanim and do manual XToMdl. And if i rename my texture to fuselage_T.bmp.dds both animation and texures works... But is it Win10, Blender or Blender2Fsx that is pulling my leg???

Go back to blender 2.73.

Versions higher changed the way filenames are made. It will take the entire filename and add the suffix rather than the first part before the dot.

ie T17.blend becomes T17.blend.x in 2.76
and T17.blend becomes T17.x in 2.73
