• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

Hi devs,


if you have report on your product that there is a CTD when the user touch the runway (landing or just "touch" with the wheel when the user comes from the dock ga for exemple)
You should be sure to have a secondary start in you runway.

In fact the AI (they should use the "script" name instead of AI) doesn't understand why we can only spawn on one end of the runway and not both and it crashes.

I had the bug because on LFHM (Alpe d'Huez) - sloped runway , we had only a primary start since it was not logical to spawn at the bottom of the track)
Asobo dev have opened an issue about that, so this is a workaround for now

Have you heard anything on the ticket with Asobo? I'm running into the exact same issue with my scenery but I don't want to add a start on the other end of the runway.
 
I had this problem and fixed it by deleting "some" Non-Asobo aircraft. Some do not cause this problem so its a "try and see".

Thank you so much for this! I've been banging my head against this problem for a week now, rebuilt the airstrip (a one-way strip in steep terrain) three times... and this simple fix was the resolution!

Hellow guys, even I have been informed about my project causing CTD on runway, going to recheck the secondary start. I hope it fixes the issue ;) Thanks
 
I tried rebuilding the package, the secondary start was also configured. Its still crashing on 5NM approach. any clues guys on it??
 
came upon this thread as I am investigating why my airport project crashes to desktop anytime I try to load in. I can't even get to the scenery editor unless I spawn at a parking spot and then everything works correctly. If I spawn onto a runway spot it crashes. I have both primary and secondary runway starts configured since I built this airport. So I don't know what the issue is but it seems to be with the runway or runway starts for sure. I am going to try and delete the starts that I already have and make new ones to see if that fixes it. Otherwise since SU6 it crashes every time I try to spawn on the runway...

That's weird, I have a lot of custom airport and non have this problem.
Maybe, like you said, it's more a start issue

Confirmed that this crash (CTD if a runway has only one start) does not happen any more, after SU6. 👍
 
Well, I spawned in via a parking spot and was able to load my project in the editor and deleted the runway starts. I then added new runway starts and saved the project. I rebuilt the project and spawned on the runway and the sim did not crash. Then I came back later and tried to spawn directly to the runway again after restarting the simulator and it crashed again. So right now it seems I can spawn in a parking spot and then go back to the menu and spawn in again to the runway with no problem. But if I try to directly spawn to the runway without spawning in a parking spot first then it will crash.... this is so frustrating.

The only thing I don't have right now on my runway is a runway taxi path. I am going to try and create one of those and see if it helps at all. It needs one anyway and I just had not done it yet. If the starts were crashing the sim before then I assume not having a runway path could also be an issue. I'm pretty much grasping at straws here right now.
 
I’m still trying to figure out the problem but I’ve narrowed it down to the WT G3000. The crash only happens with the WT G3000 enabled and only on a fresh start of the sim. I can spawn in a parking spot at my airport with the G3000 just fine. Once I do that I can go back to the main menu and spawn in on the runway start.

If I try to spawn on the runway after starting the sim fresh with a WT G3000 aircraft it will crash. Strange indeed….

Spent 4 hours this evening using Addon Linker to enable/disable addons and restart the sim every time to figure this out.

Affirmative, I rebuilt the package after SU6 and there is no more crash.
Note: My runway already had start and end points.
