• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have been working with some freebie models that really fly well and stable. But some fly nose high. Are there some parameters that I could change in the aircraft.cfg to correct some of this?

Check the wing area and CL curve as well. Sometimes a slight tweak to the CL curve at cruise AOA will help.

BUT....wing_incidence = When looking at the side of an aircraft from the wing tip, this is the angle the mean wing chord makes with a horizontal line parallel to the ground, (degrees). Note: this parameter is not used in the real-time aerodynamic calculations, as it is already factored into the lift and drag parameters.

So does that mean it is a useless entry ?
Also does this mean that it would not affect pitch as it is lift and drag assoicated ?
 
I had a similar problem with another craft and I went into the .air file with AirEd and tweaked this entry ever so slightly (originally -.000489 to -.002 final) and it is perfectly level. In fact I don't even have to touch the stick from takeoff through to leveling at cruise. Nice.

Final:
1101 > Pitch > CMO Pitch Moment Coeff at AoA=0 (Trim os,) = -.002

This seems to happen in FS9-FSX conversions

I noticed the nose-high cruise tendency in an aircraft that I loved in FS9 and had converted to use in FSX.

I think gorlosky's tip (but applied in reverse - because he was dealing with the problem in opposite) might help you.

I fixed the problem in my aircraft by increasing the cruise lift scalar in the Flight Tuning section. Though as with many flight dynamics tricks, there is usually about 10 different ways to approach the problem, and all of them will have their own peculiar trade-offs or interactions with other forces. Though for me, it did the trick and I am happy with the aircraft now. (Though I am still bumming about not having my Reality-XP JL2 gauges in it!). If someone can tell me how to get those working in FSX...I would love that (not much hope).
