• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi all,

I've been working on another project, next to my T.5, during the past months: a (postwar!) Fokker S.14 Machtrainer.

This is the progress at the moment:

That is Brilliant! Nicely done.

Did you render this or is this with a rendered and installed Ambient Occlusion map in the texture? Would be curious to know. Amazing work.

Thank you Bill!

It's still work in progress, so no maps applied yet. However, AO will be baked into the textures later in.

At first, I was a bit hesitant to respond to this. But I might explain a few things.

This project was started in fall 2017. So it's underway for 4.5 years. During this period, the exterior model hasn't even been finished. It takes too long.

In fact, I'm creating this model/addon for someone else than me. So in fact, I'm hobbying for someone else. Althought I really like the airplane, I don't feel the passion for this as I felt with the D.21 and the T.5.

So, in the years, this project has become more of an obstacle than a relaxing hobby project.

We've discussed this and concluded that termination is the best option, with making the files publicly available to the community.

Cheers, Daan

1 - That I see, since your personal (D.21 and T.5 Blender) modeling talents also continue to shine throught this entire model.

In fact, I'm creating this model/addon for someone else than me. So in fact, I'm hobbying for someone else.
2 - And @ the end of the day: This is all that is needed and really matters... Having and maintaining that unstoppable flow of fs-passion for your own native projects!
Thanks for the clarification on this important matter Daan

3 - Have you already found inspiration for your next own project(s) to come?

Yes, I need to have fun in doing the project. And I've already found the Fokker D.23 to be a nice project as entertainment.
We'll see.

And in the meanwhile, I'll try to find my way into developing for MSFS.

Great to read the famous Dutch "Fokker Spirit" is still around you (r Blender_devices) Daan.
