FS9 Updade vs. Performance

Hi,

Has anyone noticed a slight degradation in performace after the installation of FS9 Update?

The frame rate seems to stay the same, but I noticed in busy areas there is just a touch of a "click" once in a while that I didn't noticed before.

Any comments?

Hi Fern, on my ancient machine I saw a performance increase. I assume you by "click" you mean stutters. I do not recall an increase in stutters.

With that new machine of yours, FS9 should be singing and dancing too!

Stutter

Hi, Jon

Stutter is a good word. It is almost imperceptible, as the machine is cooking at 45-50 frames a second even in busy scenery areas, but when I am doing a "sweep" (a tight turn in Spot view, for example), it will just do that one stutter that I didn't notice before installing the Update.

I just noticed that I placed this thread in the wrong place. My apologies.

Hi,

I saw a little bit of stutter in my FS2004....when I change the spot view...after the FS9 update....it is very strange!!!

my PC is

ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128 VideoRam
HD 120 Giga serialATA

There are a bunch of threads on stutters and how to deal with them on AVSIM and other sites. You may want to search for these.

On my old machine, using FSAutoStart cleared up most, the gremlins were the 40-50 tasks humming away in the background.
