• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSDS 3.0 and Cat

I built a hanger for Viper aircraft in FSDS 3.0. When I completed it, I animated the hanger doors and tested the animation in model converter X and also in FS9. The animation works perfectly until I add the animation condition/trigger to the animation. When I compile it to bgl, and place it in the sim, the screen goes black and I get a CTD. But it does not do that when there is no condition added with cat. What's going on here and is there a way for me to fix it? I will upload the asm_0 without the conditions and the one with cat, BUT is there any way some one here may be able to look at it to see what the difference is after cat. I looked at that, but I am still learning the bgl language and was not sure where to start.

Update : Hey guys I did find the problem and was able to get the hanger in with animated doors:)

what was the solution?

hello ahuimanu

The situation was a part of the model at the top of the tower was causing the model to CDT when, I applied my cat condition. I am not sure why this is happening, I have to take the part out and render it as a separate model however, if I render the part with the model as a static model then the part causing the issue is fine it is only when the animation is added if the part in question is in the same source file when I run it through cat i get a CDT.
