Hi all,
I've been taking a closer look at the taxi and landing lights in the default 737 through MCX in order to decouple the taxi and landing lights (they both use the same visibility condition). No problem there.
What I've noticed though is that within FSX, the fx_landing.fx effect (the bulb of light, not the ground splash) appears offset from where MCX says the origin point is. See attached pictures taking a good look at the taxi light.
In MCX, the origin point is right on the nose gear lamp. In FSX, it's behind the right nose tyre (you can just see the halo in the attached pic). This same offset also occurs for each of the wing landing lights.
Is this a known problem? I took a look at the fx_landing.fx and saw nothing that appeared to pertain to an offset number in there.
Does anyone know what I need to get this aligned in FSX, outside of the obvious solution to edit the effects position to compensate? I'd prefer to have this fixed as opposed to a workaround, if such a fix exists.
Thanks all.
Trent
