• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi magician,

Congratulations on this new rabbit you so easily managed to pull out of your hat.

Hi Arno,

For unknown reasons the editor crashes whenever I load one of my own 'nested' (combined) effects.
Try this one for example: see attachment.

Enjoy the wet, chilly, stormy evening,

Roby

Hi Roby,

I will take a look.

It was an eye-opener to me. I hadn't realised that my effect extended underground

Hi George,

I must say that the bouncing of effects on the ground is not implemented correctly in the tool probably. So that could be a difference.

Hi Roby,

The crash was a missing comma in the emitter.7 x_particle_velocity. But I am going to try to make the editor more robust for that :).

After that I see the effect, although it looks a bit weird, so maybe the preview is not really correct.

Ah, that could be it. With wind in FSX, the fountain does drift out of the pool onto the ground.

I'll put that on my todo list. I think in this case the particles would probably stop at ground level.

Hi Arno,

The effect looks weird because all parts of the effect are in the same spot instead of being offset by many meters.

PS tks for pointing out the missing comma (did not make a difference in the effects visually but still).

Hi Roby,

I'll check that offset, maybe I am missing one in the tool.
