• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Glideslope Library Object Help

I've looked at the asobo airport generic library and at a lot of airports in the model library, finding the ILS localizer antenna was easy but I have yet to find the glideslope facility. This is a specific antenna/tower/radio shack configuration pretty common at all ILS installations. Help appreciated.

Sorry, but there is not one. There also is no objects for VOR's and NDB's; in case you want to look for those as well! To solve the problem, I converted the FSX object for use in MSFS, but that just looked beyond awful in MSFS! I then designed my own based on real world photos. It's not perfect, but it does the trick. I still want to design a better looking object with doors, windows and an aircon at some time, but at least I have something there now.

That's cool.... I just don't have the time now for that diversion (ie learning how to create and import MSFS objects) due to other commitments. Are you willing to share what you got? Thanks for the response, if nothing else it saves me time and provides alternatives.

Attached is the GLTF files; I hope you know what to do work it from here...

Some free advice from someone who has been around the block more times than anyone can count! ;) If you want to be successful in designing airports for MSFS, then learning how Blender works is essential. The program is intimidating at first and that is because Blender was designed to do much more than designing objects for MSFS or X-Plane. Once you learn the basics and it will not take long, then you are halfway there. You do not have to be a guru at design; just be able to design lampposts and antennas and the rest will happen on it's own.

Your second hurdle is learning how the build in scenery editor works. ADE is really great and it helped me to get going, but in it's current state, there is just too many you cannot do with it. Please do not take this the wrong way: I have all the respect for the people who wrote ADE, I have been a very long time user of it too and maybe when the program is complete it will be just as great as the version for FSX/P3D, but right now, the default MSFS editor is better to use.

Just my 2c worth: use it; don't use it.

Regards,
