• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Global Wildfires Open Source Project - Need Programming

yeah it's working in P3D 3.2 here also.

@Beaufort_Bandit Does your network configuration support TLS 1.2?

@FireRx The website Brandon (the one who made the fire effect) hosts the fire model on went down temporarily. Sorry for the interruption in service; glad things are working for you currently. For future reference, prior to establishing a SimConnect connection, you should be able to modify the textbox that by default contains Fire_Effect and replace it with any other SimObject title if you'd like to use a custom model.

@ronh If you'd like to contribute to the project, pull requests are appreciated. :)

@Dieter I don't have P3D, but I don't see any reason it should be incompatible. It looks like FireRx is able to use FS Active Fires with P3D v3 without issue.

I am a little embarrassed to say - never used git before to fork and update code. So you are the guinea pig. I have forked your code added the Prepar3d v3. I've uploaded the changes to my repository. Looked at the pull request compare. seems okay. What next?

Bleh, I forgot I had a relative path in the project file. I should update the configuration and include the libraries in the repository. Don't think either are available as NuGet packages.

It doesn't look like you actually created a pull request yet, though. How about I update the repository, then you can merge the changes from my forthcoming commit and then submit a pull request after that? When you merge changes there'll probably be a conflict in the csproj file that you'll have to resolve (you should be able to just use the version from the forthcoming commit). Visual Studio 2013 and newer has some pretty nice GitHub integration that should make that relatively straightforward. I'd prefer not to merge it at the moment with the hardcoded path to the libraries you added.

Ollyau, are there any other fire model for large conflagration fires we get here in California where there is a defined firefront/edge?

Not that I know of. If you find one, you can use it by setting its SimObject title in the FS Active Fires SimObject title textbox (that by default contains Fire_Effect) before you connect FS Active Fires to the simulator.

Hello,
by reading this, I got lost, if someone can explain me:
What this addon do?
What I understand:
Wildfire progressing with the winds, and user can exhaust them with a Canadair and "droppable water effet"? (or what ever planes which can drop water) (datas from real sources)

Regagrds,
Marc
