• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Gmax model see-through problem ?

It seems that my Gmax fuselage and firewall are both showing up as see through. It may be 2 separate problems, I can't tell and have tried a lot of flipping things, but am new at this and can't get it right (although it looks cool). If I copy the model to *_interior.mdl for the Virtual Cockpit view it looks okay sitting inside looking out.

Can someone tell me or is anyone interested in taking the fuselage and getting it to look right in FSX ?

Notice the firewall is see-through also:

I believe you do not have the FSX SP1 Service Pack. Go to www.fsinsider.com, go to the Downloads page, and locate, download, and install the SP1 and you should be fine.

Nice Autogyro.

Ok.

Just letting you know, that is the major cause of that effect. I thought differently myself after buying a payware plane. I, being a developer, thought I had all the updates myself. I was wrong.

I am sure you are right. Perhaps it is something else.

My apologies.

looks to me like you have built only one side to your firewall..polys are one sided, flipping them, element, means one sided but now from other side.. to build a firewall, extrude by a small amount, then build polys facing out from the
existing poly...if that deosnt work its a texture problem...jim

Hmmm.. I have no textures. It is just a color. Maybe textures would fix things ?

Did you extrude the firewall as jim suggested?

That is exactly what I think. You just didn't build the other side... If you don't want to do that, go to your material editor and check the "double-sided" checkbox in your materials "Enhanced parameters" section.
