• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Sorry if this in the wrong Thread.

I am use Gmax for a long time and I write some German Tutorial.

But now I have a Question. :D

What is the correct name of the Part that every Time is showing, if I click on an Objekt.

The Part that I mean are the 3 Arrows, and at the End of every Arrow you see x or y or z.

And I pick up this Part with the Mouse and then I can the Object move down, up, left, right and turn.

You Understand what I mean ?

Please help me and say me the right Name of this.

Thank you.

Solved

I have do a Look on the Faboulus Wiki here.

The Name of the Part what I Mean is

Transform Gizmo

In German is the real Translation: Umformer Ding or Umformer Dingsbums :D

Now I can continue my work. :wizard:

I will call him in german: Umsetzer
because you pick up with the Transform Gizmo an Object, you can the Object move to another Position.

Another tip:

I always change the keyboard mappings in gmax to suit myself. Z is for Zoom, and I have changed Pan to the key X. Good to have Zoom and Pan beside each other. But to the point: I always hit C when not supposed to. This is the key to show/hide the Transform Gizmo. Or was it X? :D. Sorry, anyway, it gave me trouble for hours and hours...where the hell was my Gizmo??

So I deleted key in question for this. What a relief ;)

Cheers,

Oh yeah we all been there...
Hit X by mistake and gone is the gizmo!
Not a problem unless you don't know which key you just pressed...

It is good to know the keyboard shortcuts of gmax and/or max!
Can be a real time saver.
