• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I need a good 3D program which makes the process to export a model to FSX & FS2004 simple.

FSDS was simple but very limitd options.
Gmax never works they way it should, and is much to time consuming.

Can anyone fill me in on a good program for 3D which also support the making of animated jetways which would work with AES ?
How about 3ds Max 2010?

I know it cost a fortune, but just asking to make sure.

There has to be some program which can do all that FSX requires without having a hard way of doing that.

About gmax, see this topic here, it will explain it all.

Hi,

If you want to work for FS2004 as well I think GMax is the only option. For FSX gamepacks are also supported for 3DS Max. But since 3DS Max and GMax are quite similar I doubt 3DS Max is easier for you than GMax.

Other programs might support FS partly, but since they are not officially supported you will often find it is more complex to export, especially for special features like animations.

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/sh...s a "user problem" while editing the file :).

Hey.

I just hope it will work.

I like gmax, but if the problem can't be fixed, then I have no options left.
Hope you know what the problems is :)

We know full well what the problem is...

Consider for a moment that there are literally thousands of folks using GMax successfully to build and export for FS2002, FS2004 and FSX...

Hey :)

It works now.
Arno gave me the right xml code, and from there it was easy :)

But the object is way up in the sky, even when I set the altitude of the xml file to 0 or 270 which is the current altitude of the airplane.

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<FSData version="9.0" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<SceneryObject
lat="N55 44.74"
lon="E9 8.92"
alt="250.7"
altitudeIsAgl="TRUE"
pitch="0"
bank="0"
heading="354"
imageComplexity="NORMAL">
<LibraryObject
name="{7c2d618f-298f-40c8-bd5c-983210816085}"
scale="1.0"/>
</SceneryObject>
<ModelData sourceFile="BillundNewTerminal.MDL" />
</FSData>
