• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello everyone,

I stumbled across this place after not knowing it existed for so long. It's great to see people helping one another.

I'm in a bit of a bind. I've recently created the first comprehensive airport scenery for all of Jordan, which is for FS9 and FSX and available for download at www.vatjo.net. However, I seem to be having a bit of a problem.

See, I used EZ Scenery Creator along with AFCAD to make the sceneries. So while they are rather "basic," they do, in fact, cover a lot of detail with regards to the way the airports are depicted. The frame rate hit is almost non existent, and it runs very smooth. However, I do have a "memory bleed" problem when flying around OJAM's depiction in the scenery. I've checked the AFCADs, I've made sure all the textures are included, I've double checked to make sure that there are no scenery conflicts, and yet, nothing seems to be able to fix the problem.

I was wondering if someone can take a look at that for me. It only happens in FS9 - to my knowledge, it does not happen in FSX. After about 30 minutes or so, flight simulator freezes as it runs out of available memory.

It only occurs with this scenery, not with any other scenery I've installed. Furthermore, I have FS9.1, and only use the files in the scenery package noted.

Any and all help and tips would be great. I just want to isolate the problem so I can, at the very least, create a fix for it.

Try taking your four AFCAD files and the AMMAN-CITY-LC.bgl file out of the Addon Scenery\scenery folder and place them into a seperate folder structure, with *NO* texture sub-folder. Having a land class file in a folder structure that also has an empty texture folder will lead to memory leaks.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'll go ahead and give it a shot and get back to you.

I've done as you said and it seems that there is still a memory leak somewhere. FS begins by taking 398,000k of ram and begins to increase. Right now, it's at about 610,000k.

Any other ideas?

Edit: To clarify, the memory leak has been reduced, though it is not gone. I think that moving the files to their own directory has helped, but I'm not sure what else I can do. Do think that the E-Z libraries have something to do with it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Maybe it needs to be restructured in terms of how the files are called? Maybe just having all the BGLs in one place and then keeping each scenery folder for the facilities included with just the main BGL would help? Ideas?

Local=Addon Scenery\VATJO\VATJO-OJMF

You see I have made a Folder named VATJO in my Addon Scenery Folder, in this Folder are all VATJO relevated Folders.

The Afcad Files I have moved in the Airport Folders:

AF2_OJAI-MF-V2.bgl into \Addon Scenery\VATJO\VATJO-OJAI\scenery

AF2_OJAM.bgl into \Addon Scenery\VATJO\VATJO-OJAM\Scenery

and so on.

I have made a Flight of 1 Hour around OJAM with no Crash or OOM.

My BS ist WinXP Pro with 2 GB RAM.

In this Area no additional Mesh or something else like UTE.

Thank you so much for your help.

I've also done something similar - rearranged the folders, make things more efficient. I've tested the scenery all day and not a single leak. I've repackaged and reuploaded both to VATJO.net and Flightsim.com.

Here are the updated files:

To download for FS9, click here: http://vatjo.net/downloads/VATJO-FULL-JO-SCEN-FS9.zip

To download for FSX, click here: http://vatjo.net/downloads/VATJO-FULL-JO-SCEN-FSX.zip

Again, thank you all of you who replied. I couldn't have arrived at the solution without your help.

Everything's uploaded and working well. However, I noticed that on some machines, power lines will appear right next to Runway 01 at OJAQ. This, so far, has been seen for FS9 and not FSX. Is there any way to exclude them? It seems that the exclude file I've made for OJAQ excluded everything but the powerlines.

Any ideas?

You must ask the Pilot they have the Powerlines because the Addons what he use in this Area.

Some Addons have Powerlines inserted.

I have no Powerlines in this Area.
