• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Ground poly help

Arno- I was working on my ground polys today, and accidentally over-wrote one of my working bgls. So, I went and re-exported everything and used the same entries for the layer numbers and view distances (Had set that up in the options, so I know nothing changed there, and I had written the different layer numbers down.) I had already been in the sim earlier and everything was fine before hand. After re-exporting the files and running them thru the GP Wizard, I am running into a very strange issue....My GPs do not show until you are right on them, even though visibility is set to 68000.

Did you use the high range before as well? I would have to check but it might be 65 km is the maximum range that can be stored.

I thought I had done the high range before....I will try and report back....Also noticed that the latest version of MCX is throwing an error when loading the exported fs9 X file from 3dsMax. If I use and older version of MCX it loads the .X file just fine.

You are a genius Arno...That was it. Dropped it down to 45000 and it shows perfectly...

I think as long as you stay below 65536 it should work fine. I seem to remember a short is used in the BGL format to store the range and that is the maximum value it can take.

What kind of error do you get when importing the X file? I would like to fix that. If you have a sample or so I can check.

Here you go Arno...I didn't include the textures, but that shouldn't make a difference...
