FS2004 Ground poly problem

Hi guys, have been practicing scenery for a long time but have finally decided to do a full scenery and am having a problem with ground polys. At a certain point the polys disappear when I get close but when I get further away they come back. I have a flatten active in the area and in 3ds max I have the object at 0.0. And I also have tweaked the asm files. Please if anyone knows I would really appreciate it as its really frustrating me.

Hi,

It is a bit hard to see what happens from the screenshots. Do the polygons completely disappear or does it more seem that they go into the ground?

The last more sounds like a flatten problem, while the first could also be a wrong radius value (v2 value) in the reference point.

Hi,

Just saw your PM, where you described that they show in the distance and close to you, but some part in between is missing.

That sounds like a flatten problem. Did you already double check that the flatten altitude is the same as the altitude in the XML file of the airport (in the AFCAD)?

Yes I have checked the flatten, and have tried changing the altitude to see if that makes any difference but the problem is still there, Im thinking maybe I didnt extend the flatten area long enough so maybe Ill try re doing it?

Sorry guys, my mistake. Finally got it was an issue with the flatten. re did the flatten and all is well now. Thanks for the help arno :D
