• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ground poly with several layers

Hi Don,

Sorry to be a PITA, but has this problem been solved? And if so, do I have to make the ground poly again with the newest version? Compiling again only does not seem to get rid of this.

No one has reported such a problem in over a month. As for your particular issue, unless you send me the file, I have no way of answering your question.

Don

Roby, I realized after the last post that this airport is GECE which you sent some time ago. I recompiled that file without any issues.

Don

Why don't you first send me the current version of the file. If there is still an issue, replacing the poly with another similar one is unlikely to be fruitful.

Don

PS: Please include any custom textures and your textures_def and Lines_def files.

Hi Don,

Not necessary, I think.
Although the program now says:

rxp1.jpg

the result no longer shows the 'artifact'.

PS If you still want me to send files, please tell me.

That you now get an error message and the issue no longer exists after compilation suggests you may not have been using the latest version of the compiler when you first posted above.

The error message identifies the exact location of the problematic object. Have you attempted to analyse it?

Don

EDIT: You may recall from the earlier discussion several weeks ago that I was concerned that the configuration of the lower left-hand corner could result in a problem and I suggested how that potential difficulty could be resolved. Once you have an opportunity to analyse the current situation, you might try applying my suggestion.

Hi again Don,

Yes, I definitely recall how you suggested to remedy this problem. And I did as you said and got rid of the problem (as I think I mentioned at the time?).
That is why I asked about it as I was astonished that it showed up again.
But it is gone now, so let us hope for the best and if it occurs once more I know how to solve the issue.
Thanks,

Roby

I remain concerned about how you could realize two totally different results from two compiles of the same file with, presumably, the same software version.

Don

The first result was not as a consequence of an edit of the texture and recompile and was made some time ago (v 0.0.60 something) while the second only after having edited (without making changes) in 0.0.91 and then recompile.

Compiling again only does not seem to get rid of this.
Thanks, I misinterpreted this portion of your initial post as meaning that you had recompiled with the latest ADE_GP release and still found the old problem existing.

In general, unless I state otherwise, you may be confident that each new release resolves (or otherwise addresses) all previously-reported problems.

Don

I expressed myself badly once again.
I did recompile with the newest version but without editing the texture first.
With my second attempt I clicked on the groundpoly to edit it, clicked OK and then recompiled and only then the problem was solved.
Just so that you are not misinformed.
