• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Ground Poly Wizard Crash

Hi there,

Just got finished reinstalling W7 and getting back down to business. I've set up my file paths as seen below but every time that I try to compile the poly, the entire program stops responding and it never outputs the file... is there something wrong I've done in setting up my paths that is causing the issue? I had this issue a long time ago when I first started using the wizard and got it resolved through by fixing the paths but I can't seem to find out what I'm doing wrong now.

Hi,

The ground polygon wizard only uses scasm, so if you have installed it in the folder indicated in your settings it should be fine.

Do you get any error or does the program just stop responding?

The scasm.exe file path is correct. I haven't "installed" scasm, I just copied over the EXE from my previous W8 installation. Not sure if there's a difference there. Also, it just says "processing please wait" and then the program just stops responding within 10 seconds.

Is this with a complex airport? In that case it could take more than 10 seconds to process it of course. But then after a while the GUI should respond again.

It's a fairly simple airport. Before I reverted back to Win7, I compiled the same airport and it worked rather quickly, much less than 10 seconds even.

Ok, you also installed the .net framework 2.0 again? Guess you did, else it would not run anyway.

I assume so. I'll just attach the .MDL and see if you can replicate the error if that's ok. Perhaps its an error with the MDL?

Ran a different MDL through and it works fine. Now to remake that entire .MDL for the third time :banghead::censored:
