• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Ground Polygon - problem

I'm making an airport of Brazil (SBFL) in Gmax. The taxiways, runways etc are been making in Gmax (Ground Polygon) but when I fly in FS, the aircraft "jumps" in the solo and there is the effect of land, the dust besides the wheel when the aircraft moves.

I have another dought; I'd like to do the ALS and the ILS, Aproach Light System and Instrument Light System, because the Ground Polygon hides the lights of AFCAD.

Regards, Matheus Vallim.

PS: Sorry of my english...

Hello Matheus,

To not have dust behind your wheels, you need to make sure that there is an AFCAD apron or taxiway below the polygons you made with GMax. That should stop the dust from appearing.

About the lights, it is possible to place lights with GMax. Just have a look around the forum, there are quite some threads discussing this already.

Thanks Arno! I did an AFCAD for the airport, but I had another problem, look this:

What could it be? A flattern problem?

Look the ground, with a little zoom (0.31). In some places of the airport, this problem doesn't happen.

Regards, Matheus Vallim.

Hi,

Yes, that looks like a flatten problem indeed. Have you made a flatten for the airport as well?

Which version of FS are you working with?

I would use SBuilder to add flattens (SBuilderX for FsX or the normal SBuilder for Fs2004).

FS9... thank you, I will use Sbuilder.

Another question: I'd like to make my scenery full compatible with FSX. The ground polygon that I made runs in FSX correctly? With the rain effects?

Thank you again :)

Hi,

To make your ground polygons working correctly in FsX, you need to make sure that it is divided in segments no bigger than 100x100 meters. So you probably have to split it up a bit.

And no, no rain effects on this kind of polygons. You need to use XML style polygons for that.
