• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi i know ive been posting alot but i need help once again. I want to make my own ground textures for example for aprons , taxiways and so on but where do i get my resources for these things or do i edit pictures and combine them together ? and after that how do i lay them down into fs2004 without messing up my afcad ? Is there a way to use these textures in afcad2?

Hi,

No, you can't use your own textures in AFCAD. Most people who want to make custom aprons and runways draw them as polygons on top of the AFCAD parts of the scenery (so the AFCAD aprons, taxiways, etc will be hidden below these poylgons and are no longer visible).

You could for example do this with GMax and the Fs2002 gamepack (that gamepack is needed to be able to produce proper ground polygons).

Hi Arno,

(so the AFCAD aprons, taxiways, etc will be hidden below these poylgons and are no longer visible).

Well, I have encountered such problem with an Afcad taxiway in FSX (an AF2_ file I had put into FSX... best not to do that) I could see along a road (that was used by moving ground vehicles).
Is there any way to let disappear such Afcad taxiway ? (bee invisible) Or have I missed something during the setup of Afcad2-file ?
This is of course something to be solved in the future because AFCAD3 is not released yet. But there is a program that makes AFCAD2-files work in FSX ( www.scenery.org ).

Greetz. José.
