• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Perhaps its OneDrive from MS changing it's method of linking files ...again ? :duck:

< Either that or MS will only allow downloads after I "upgrade" to WIN-10 (I'll still keep using WIN-7, regardless). :stirthepo >

We'll stay tuned, and thanks again, Dick. :)

Update:

I found Dicks thread for testing file linking here:

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/test-for-new-onedrive-linking.437545/#post-746451

Apparently one must: :pushpin:

1.) Browse directly to Dick's OneDrive page at the "shared link":

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqHPK71bDJXziDPAZi3Y24BG3j4t

2.) Click to put a check mark next the desired file(s) {...latest is "GoogleServer_V619"}

3.) Click Download at the top of the page

...to start the download of the desired file(s). ;)

Updated again:

Hmmm... I now see that I actually did download from all above links via single clicks in FireFox.

There seemed to be no download response via FireFox over a few dozen seconds from either of the FSDeveloper or PTSIM forum DLL links when I repeatedly checked, so I assumed those links were not working. :scratchch

Apparently there is some major delay in starting the download from the MS cloud server.

<Maybe MS actually does only have "One Drive", and all 'guest' downloads are cued for sending later ?>

The link is fixed, but I'm not happy with Microsoft's solution to direct linking. The link takes you to a new tab where the download does take place, but leaves you on the new tab. Not the best solution. Someone will crack it eventually to give us a real direct link.

Just a quick question Dick, do any of the other servers, arcgisimagery, Nokia, for example, update their dll at all?
Bernardo.

Only Google needs an update, due to the 'versioning' of their tiles.
